People, Plans, and Purpose

Ever since Parklawn Assembly of God was founded in 1907, we have been moving from place to place as God's glory cloud also moved. Each time that we obeyed, we saw God's provision and a greater release of Pentecostal power. God has done greater things than any one could have imagined. Now I am excited to see what He will do in this season. We are launching a Capitol Campaign with the theme, "Fulfilling the Dream." I believe God is a Dreamer! He has dreams for our lives. Jeremiah 1:4 and 29:11 reminds us that He has holy plans and a divine purpose for His people. Now it is time for this church to dare to dream beyond ourselves so that even more people can be saved and released into their God given purpose. Our ministry plan and building expansion will allow us greater impact in our community and a greater effectiveness as a church. The first plan is to build an additional 40,000 square foot complex that will provide:

• New Children's Ministry space
• New Music and Fine Arts space with a state of the art recording studio
• New Café to reach out to the Young Adult community
• A new bookstore
• A new and larger lobby for church member fellowship
• New administrative offices

The second plan is to remodel and upgrade our Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall. The Fellowship Hall will be renovated to an improved gym, a banquet facility, and a youth center. In addition, Parklawn Christian Leadership Academy will expand to Junior High School in newly renovated classrooms and offices. There will also be a new nursery located near the Sanctuary. God's dream goes beyond buildings, bricks, and mortar, His purpose is people. Let's dare to dream as Jesus, "who for the joy (of relationship with people) set before Him, endured the cross and despised the shame."
