Parklawn Assembly of God :: SUM

SUM

Our History:

Founded as School of Urban Missions (SUM).  By a gentleman named George Neau.  George Now known as SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary.  Established 30 years ago in Baton Rouge, LA,  George saw the need to develop ethnic leadership to reach the moral, spiritual, and financial needs of impoverished neighborhoods. He realized the need for bible college training; however, the cost for such training was often out of reach because of poor educational backgrounds and rampant poverty levels. The college began in George’s living room. Over time, George’s God-given dream of building an Bible college would be fulfilled by acquiring depressed land in the inner city, transforming them into facilities with donated materials and volunteer labor.  In 2011 the school changed its name to SUM Bible College and Theological Seminary, which exemplified its evolving focus from strictly urban to a worldwide vision.

Purpose:

Our mission is to empower leaders for the fivefold ministry (Apostles, Prophets, Teachers, Pastors, and Evangelists) by offering students a high quality Christian education. We provide practical hands-on ministry training and personal mentorship that will equip students to step into their calling and boldly proclaim Christ throughout the world! At SUM-MKE, our students will connect with like-minded individuals that have answered the call to serve. With our practical hands-on ministry, students will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact in Milwaukee’s inner city.
